MY SISTER IS LEAVING [24 Aug 2006|04:20pm]
[ mood | crushed ]

My sister is leaving tomorrow for Canada, for college. I'll miss her greatly, and will have to get use to not having her around.

I got accepted into the NYLF law forum program thing - it's being held in Washington, D.C. in November. I'm excited, but nervous and anxious about the people I will meet and my lack of experience in the field of law being a major issue. Maybe after that, I'll finally if I want to become a lawyer, or not...

[ mood | satisfied ]

I'm back from Colombia, and I couldn't be more happy to have returned home.

Today, I went to see Fiona Apple + Damien Rice in concert. My sister and I got there at around 9:00 in the morning, and chatted with people who were there since 5. The waiting was more tolerable than I expected. For long periods of time, the sun was scorching. I was worried Fiona was going to lose her temper.

At around 6:00, we all got to go the stage, and everyone rushed to get in the front. My sister and I were lucky enough to get an almost perfect view. My feet were killing me, and they took forever to start.

I was so relieved when Damien Rice got on stage. He looked good in his brown jacket and jeans. And Lisa Hannigan was gorgeous. He sang "The Professor", "Woman Like A Man", "I Remember","Volcano","The Blowers Daughter", "Cannonball", and more (I just can't remember). Damien went crazy during "I Remember".

It was awesome. And some bitches behind me were like "why is like that? he was so calm before, and now...". I felt like slapping them in their smug faces.

When he finished, he thanked everyone. He said, "You all have been, super, super, sweet." The whole crowd was glad to have made him so happy, especially since he cried during at least 2 of his songs.

Finally Fiona Apple came out, and everyone went wild. I loved her dress - it was long and purple, with a pink belt. She played on the piano as much as she sang on the mic. When she sang, her voice was so raw and emotional. You felt everything, and the crowd shouted and screamed her name.

When Fiona spoke, most people were scratching their heads - she rarely made sense and was really moody, but as one audience member said, "Moody Works!".

She did "Sleep to Dream","Not About Love", "Oh Well", "Shadowboxer", "Slow Like Honey" (for which she gave a funny explanation for), among others. She finished with "Criminal" and it was truly amazing.

I had a great night - and I even bought a shirt with the lyrics of Extraordinary Machine on it. And I got tons of pictures that I had to take while the guards weren't looking.

And I have a question: Why was Heather Graham there?

SUMMER IN COLOMBIA [03 Jul 2006|06:26pm]
[ mood | frustrated ]

I'm going to Colombia tomorrow. I'll be leaving at 4:00 in the morning. I'll be gone for 3 weeks, and I'm not sure how I'll manage. At least I have the Damien Rice/Fiona Apple concert to look forward to at the end of July.

so long...

JUST A POEM I FOUND [01 Jul 2006|04:14pm]

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live...

What Horror Movie Killer Are You?

You're either a boyfriend and/or friend of a girl, who's mom (the boyfriend) had an affair with your dad or you just wanted in on it, or the boyfriend's mom who's pissed or her sidekick who had no real reason from what I remeber, or a girls long lost brother who's really pissed off.

GIRLS OF MOUNT ST. URSULA... [21 Oct 2005|12:48pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Well, today my school celebrated their annual Ring Day, in which the Seniors get their class rings. In my opinion, the whole thing is blown just a tab out of proportion. Still, I enjoyed myself more than I thought I would. I got out early today, and I'm glad it's all over - the preparing, the practicing for a day that's not even in honor of me. Now everything's back to normal.

STUCK IN THE RAIN [12 Oct 2005|06:58pm]
[ mood | depressed ]

I was stuck outside of my house in the rain today. I was in a rush to leave the house this morning, and misplaced my keys. And since I took my PSAT today, I got home at noon, but no one was at home, and I had no way of getting inside. I had to wait for 4 hours in the cold, severe rain, waiting for my sister to come home. I sat on the porch, paced in the backyard, and wished for it all to end. I couldn't feel my feet, or my legs, or my hands. The side effects are still with me. To make matters worse, my sister ordered a pizza, to which we ate the entirety of. When my mother got home, she was disappointed that none was left for her. She had a right to be, and I feel horrible about it. All in all, today was a tragedy, and I still can't find my keys.

TODAY WAS CLOUDY [11 Oct 2005|06:02pm]
[ mood | disappointed ]

Today was cloudy, which means the rest of the day will inevitably suffer. The morning was a piercing cold - I almost wished that the scorching summer days would return. Almost. My sister and I were forced to walk to the bus stop, around 8 blocks was the distance. The bus was crowded, but we got a seat, fortunately. School was dull and dreadful as was expected. By the end of the day, I craved to go into my room, cuddle up in my bed, and forget everything. But, today was a cloudy, which means the rest of the day will inevitably suffer. In the morning, I had given my sister my keys because I thought I had a club meeting. But, it was canceled, and I had to come home before my sister. I waited in the freezing and boring outdoors for an hour and a half. Eventually, my sister came home and I was finally able to relax. I hope tomorrow is sunny.

HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY [10 Oct 2005|09:45am]
[ mood | creative ]

Yes, Happy Columbus Day. The day where, for some reason, students get an extra day off. And really, there is no better way to celebrate a man who came to America by accident, took advantage of the Native's hospitality and kindness, then degraded and murdered them without a qualm. Nice job, Chris. Good job, America. Really.
